Advantages of Abrasive Waterjet Fabrication

Gears, and Metal Components
Competitive cost

  • Prototypes, production or limited runs on short notice
  • Smooth edges need no secondary processing
  • No tooling costs
  • Cut width of only 1.2mm for minimal material loss
  • Only 2mm spacing between nested parts for best material utilization

Accuracy & Repeatability

  • Precise, intricate shapes with tolerances of ±0.003
  • No burrs, stresses or heat-affected zones
  • Cold cutting process, no heat distortion, edge hardening or heating effected zones

Size, Flexibility & Speed

  • Production directly from .DXF files, CAD files or scanned images
  • Close part nesting assures maximum yield
  • Cuts virtually any material up to 7” thick
  • Maximum size 55” x 100”. Virtually no lower limit
  • Intricate designs are easily created
  • Reduces or eliminates secondary cleaning operations
  • All machining undertaken within a single set up
  • No restriction on hole size

Materials range

  • All steel alloys
  • Armor plate
  • Aluminum
  • Brass & Copper
  • Composites, other plastics
  • Marble, Granite, Slate, other stones
  • Lead
  • Foam
  • Rubber
  • Cast Iron
  • Ceramics
  • Wood

Note: We do not cut tempered glass.

Environmentally friendly

The waterjet process uses plain water, no noxious gases or liquids, nor any oily lubricants, and the abrasive is garnet -- a natural reddish crystal of Mohs hardness 6.5 to 7.5.

Quotation & Turnaround
